It had been raining the whole day non-stop, and I had been waiting to get a decent shot! I finally gave up and decided to pack up my cameras and equipment, when suddenly the rain stopped and the sun came out. I knew I only had a very small window of opportunity to get a shot, so I reached for my cameras and started setting up again.
I caught sight of a couple taking advantage of the sunny spell, and had gone out paddling in a canoe. I signaled for them to return to the beach and as soon as they reached shore, I commandeered the canoe and positioned it for the shoot. The light conditions were just perfect with the sun reflecting in the clouds, as I ran off several rolls of film in different formats.
Then as quickly as the sun had appeared, it disappeared behind the next dark cloud and the rain started up again.
A yellow canoe is a great contrast against the pink sunset in the Yukon Territory, Canada.
