The vermillion o-torii (grand torii) stands majestically 200 meters in front of the Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island. Constructed from camphor wood, it is a colossal 16 meters high with its four-legged base providing stability. The shrine was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, and is often described as one of the finest views in Japan.
