Magdalena Bay is the winter breeding ground of Gray Whales who travel over 5,000 miles or 8,050 kilometres from their arctic feeding and mating grounds. The Bay has ideal conditions for a gray whale to give birth because of its protected lagoons surrounded by a mosaic of islands. Baja California is situated in Mexico on the Pacific Coast.
One of the best places to see a Gray Whale up close and personal is in Magdalena Bay in the Baja California, Mexico.
