Walking around in katmai National Park during the salmon run is like walking in the Zoo, just without the fences. bears everywhere! But to spot a mother with 4 cubs is a rare thing even for Katmai standards. When this mother then comes across you while you are standing on one of the two safe viewing platforms and walks only a few feet from you then this is photographic heaven.
