Each year on August 6th the people of Hiroshima float lanterns out to sea in memory of those who died and with the hopes that a similar tragedy will never happen again.
With the Peace Memorial - the Atomic Bomb Dome illuminated in green, prayer lanterns are floated on the Ota River in Hiroshima, Japan.
