A great place for bird watching is Muriwai Beach situated a little north of Auckland City on the North Island of New Zealand. Muriwai Beach area is an important mainland Gannet breeding site and a refuge protects the area. The refuge is called the Takapu Refuge and is situated at the southern end of Muriwai Beach along the west coast of NZ.
