The beautiful camel coloured sand of the Te Paki Sand Dunes is a great place to visit during a trip in Northland to Ninety Mile Beach and Cape Reinga. The dunes are pushed in land by 5 kilometres and to a height of about 100 metres by strong winds blowing from the Tasman Sea.
A popular activity for visitors during the summer months is to fly down the Te Paki Sand Dunes on a toboggan or climbing to the top of the highest for a view of the diverse surroundings.
